THE WAY OUT

“Chaaron khaani mein bharmataa, kabahou na lagataa paar

So pheraa sab miti gayaa, Satguru ke upkaar”

The soul has been wandering again and again from one life form to another without finding its way out. It is only by the grace of Satguru that all the wandering came to an end.

Real freedom is when we are free from birth and death. Because we have not been able to free ourselves before, and because of our previous actions, we have been bestowed with a human birth. This opportunity is for us to make the most of, so that we can get to the exit from the labyrinth of the four different forms of life. All living beings are bound by the existential nature of life. Moisture-born, seed-born, egg-born or womb-born : these are the four categories of life forms within which the soul keeps wandering until it can find its way out. But because Maya prevents the living being to see beyond the confines of its projected ‘reality’, the gateway to liberation is not perceptible. Human beings are the highest form of living being and the most sophisticated creation of God. The intellectual competences that we have are not present in any other form of living being. Yet, our intellectual power alone is not sufficient to set us free from the cycle of birth and death. We need the grace of a Satguru who can uplift us. We do not know what the itinerary of our previous lifetimes has been; but seeing how the world is but a purgatory, and knowing the conditions of life other creatures are subject to, there is no reason why we should give in to the conundrum of a never-ending race. Out of the race, and we are free forever.
