IN GOOD HANDS

“Harijan gaanth naa baandhiye, udar samaanaa leye
Aage picche Hari khare, jo maange so deye”

– Kabir

The true devotee of God does not need to worry hoarding stuff/goods; he can generously avail of what he needs. Because God is always around him, and provides him with whatever he needs.

People who are driven by their desires often tend to collect and stockpile more than what they need. In part because they worry in case they run out of things, and in part because of their appetite for more. If we trust that God will always provide for us as long as we are doing the right thing, as long as we are making our efforts, as long as we use (and not abuse or misuse) what we need, then there is no reason why we should be stressed to have more than we need. Fairness and parity are based on the principle that all human beings are equal, regardless of caste, creed, race, origin, religion. Those people who think that they must be more privileged at the expense of others can never be true devotees of God. In this saakhi Satguru Kabir Saheb wants us to understand that the whole universe has an abundance of provisions for all, and from this abundance we can all generously satisfy our needs. But when greed and desires push people to selfishly fight for themselves disproportionately, then they are not being faithful to their true nature.

This is why Satguru Kabir Saheb is saying that God is around he who manifests his true nature. In other words, he who conducts himself as a spiritual being (not as a mere physical being just like any other animal), is served with what he needs, when he needs it, where he needs it. A true devotee cares for himself and for others. A true devotee trusts that God is always there to provide for him.
