LOVE, AT ALL COST

LOVE, AT ALL COST
“Prem na baari oopje, prem na haat bikaaye
Raajaa prajaa jobhi rooche, sheesh de le jaaye”.
Love is not grown in fields nor can we buy it at the marketplace. Whoever is interested in being mesmerised in love, whether he is king or subject, needs to offer his head in exchange of that love.
If you can obtain it from trees, it is not love. If you can obtain it from shopping around, it is not love. If you can obtain it from begging, stealing, borrowing, it definitely is not love. The experience of love is probably the best state of existence any living being can live. In this material world, many people think they can obtain love from outside sources or by using their material means. But love comes from within us. This is why it demands a unique sacrifice to be able to experience it. Ego and love can never coexist. When ego wraps around someone so much that he is blurred by illusion, he will mistake self-gratification for love. Satguru Kabir Saheb is telling us that unless we are ready to offer our head, we will not experience love. It does not have to do with what people think, with what we lose, with what we gain. It is just a sacrifice one has to make to dissolve into oneness. Only those who are brave enough to get rid of their false Self can do that. Those who cannot detach themselves from their status, their rank, their outward beauty, their mundane relationships, and also all pride, vanity, and arrogance can never experience love. If we agree that God is love, then we must also agree that we can only experience love if we allow divinity to supersede all the vices that drag us down. At the cost of forsaking our ego.
Are we ready to pay the price?
